HIDEO WAKAMATSU is a suitcase and bag brand launched in Paris in 1989 by Kyowa Co., Ltd., a long-established Japanese manufacturer.
Founded by Hideo Wakamatsu, the brand was born from his refined sensibilities cultivated in Paris and across Europe, combined with the Japanese appreciation for beautiful functionality, harmony, and meticulous attention to detail. Can I specify a delivery date or time?

When will my credit card be charged?

Do you offer gift wrapping services?
Yes, we offer gift wrapping.

Can I exchange the item for a different color or size?
Requests for changes made for customer convenience are accepted only for new, unused, and unopened items.

What is a remote area surcharge?
For deliveries to Okinawa Prefecture, as well as certain remote areas and islands, an additional remote area surcharge will apply separately from the standard shipping fee, as listed below.
(This surcharge applies even if the total order amount is ¥5,000 or more.)
Please note that the remote area surcharge will not be reflected in the shipping fee shown at checkout.
After we review your order, we will send you a “Remote Area Surcharge Information Email” and a “Remote Area Surcharge Payment Request Email” separately.
Please review these emails and complete payment for the remote area surcharge, or for the total amount including the surcharge.

Can I get a receipt?
At the HIDEO WAKAMATSU Official Online Shop, we do not include receipts, delivery slips, or any other documents showing the purchase amount with your order.

Can I place an order from overseas, and do you ship internationally?
If the person placing the order resides or is staying overseas and wishes to have the items shipped internationally, purchases can be made using the Buyee cart.
(Please note that the United States and Hong Kong are excluded.)
I live overseas. Can I receive my order in Japan while I am staying there?
Delivery to hotels or other accommodations within Japan during your stay is available.
Please note that this service is limited to cases where your stay period is confirmed with no possibility of cancellation, and where the hotel or accommodation has agreed to accept and receive your package.

Which size suitcase should I choose?
We recommend choosing a suitcase based on the length of your trip and your mode of transportation.
Carry-on size (up to 40L):
Ideal for short trips or business travel of 1–3 nights.
There is no need to check in your luggage, allowing for smooth and efficient travel.
Medium size (41L–60L):
Suitable for trips of 3–5 nights.
A reliable choice for travelers who plan to purchase souvenirs or carry more belongings.
Large size (61L and above):
Perfect for long trips of 5 nights or more or family travel.
Offers ample space to pack bulky winter clothing with ease.
Choosing a model with an expandable function is also convenient, as it allows you to adjust the capacity if you acquire more items during your return trip.
Please note that carry-on size regulations vary by airline and route, so we recommend checking the requirements in advance.
How should I choose a suitcase for long trips or business travel?
For long trips or extended business travel, both size and functionality are key considerations.
For trips or business travel of 5 nights or more, we recommend a large-size suitcase (67.5L or larger) with durable wheels, an expandable function, and multiple interior compartments for efficient organization.
What are the advantages of fabric suitcases?
Because fabric suitcases are primarily constructed from resin and textile materials, they are often lighter than hard-shell cases, making them easier to carry and handle.
Their lighter weight also allows for more flexibility with airline weight limits.
Since the fabric has a slight flexibility, it can accommodate changes in packing volume, making it easier to handle situations where your luggage increases during business trips or travel.
In addition, the fabric acts as a cushion, helping to reduce impact and protect the contents inside.
Many fabric suitcases feature external zippered pockets, allowing quick access to items such as tickets, chargers, and documents.

What are the size requirements and restrictions for carry-on suitcases?
For most airlines, the general carry-on luggage guidelines are as follows:
・The total of the three dimensions must be within 115 cm
(approximately 55 × 40 × 25 cm)
・Weight limits typically range from 7 to 10 kg, depending on the airline
Please note that low-cost carriers (LCCs) and international flights may have different requirements.

How can I care for my suitcase and make it last longer?
After use, please wipe your suitcase with a soft cloth and store it in a place away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity.
Clean dirt from the wheels and handle, and applying a small amount of lubricant occasionally can help extend their lifespan.
Even if the suitcase is not used for a long period, we recommend moving it from time to time to check and maintain the moving parts.
At HIDEO WAKAMATSU, our suitcases are designed for long-term use, but regular care can further extend their durability and lifespan.
What is Clarino®, and what are the advantages of bags made with Clarino® material?
Clarino® is the world’s first artificial leather material.
It is highly resistant to scratches, durable, and designed for long-lasting use, which is why it is commonly used in school bags and backpacks, offering reliability and peace of mind.
Clarino® is lightweight and flexible, with excellent surface strength and water resistance, making it suitable even for rainy days.
If it gets wet or dirty, it can be cleaned relatively easily.
This material is highly recommended for those who want to use their bags for a long time.

HIDEO WAKAMATSU suitcases are supported by a comprehensive warranty and repair service within Japan, so you can continue to use them with confidence long after your purchase.
All repairs are carried out by trained specialists at our own domestic logistics center.

What is the warranty period for suitcases?
HIDEO WAKAMATSU suitcases come with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty from the date of purchase.
During the warranty period, eligible defects will be repaired free of charge.
*Repair services are available within Japan only.
*Some models come with a 3-year or 5-year warranty.
*Please note that certain items, such as sale products, may not be covered by the warranty.

What should I do if the warranty period for my suitcase has expired?

I’ve lost my warranty card. Can I still have my item repaired?
Even if you do not have a warranty card, paid repair service is still available.

Can the warranty card be reissued?
We sincerely apologize, but the warranty card cannot be reissued.
Please keep your warranty card and your purchase receipt in a safe place to avoid losing them.
I purchased the item online and did not receive a receipt. What should I do if I cannot attach a receipt to the warranty card?
For items purchased online, such as through our online shop, a receipt or invoice is not issued.
In place of a receipt, the following can be used as proof of purchase:
・An email confirming shipment
・A screenshot of your order history
・Verification through inquiry with our customer support
In all cases, the original warranty card is still required, so please keep it in a safe place.
What should I do if my suitcase is damaged? Can it be repaired?
Yes, HIDEO WAKAMATSU suitcases can be repaired.
To ensure long-lasting use, our trained specialists perform repairs and replacements of major components such as wheels, handles, and zippers at our domestic logistics center in Japan.

Repairs are free of charge if the item is within the warranty period.
How long does the repair take?
From the time we receive your item until it is returned, repairs generally take about 2 to 3 weeks.
Please note that we are unable to accept repairs during long holidays, such as the year-end and New Year period.
Repair times may take longer depending on the details of the repair or the availability of replacement parts.
For deliveries to remote islands or distant locations, additional time may be required for shipping.
How can I pay for the repair?
The repaired item will be shipped via cash-on-delivery (Sagawa Express), so please pay the repair fee upon delivery.
Can I purchase individual parts, such as casters or handles, separately?
We do not sell parts individually.
This is because we cannot guarantee the quality or durability if repairs are carried out by customers themselves or by external shops.
Even if you attempt repairs using commercially available wheels or parts, we cannot ensure proper functionality.
For repairs, our specialized staff at our logistics center in Chiba Prefecture will responsibly handle all replacements and repairs.

How much is the shipping cost for repairs?
Customers are responsible only for the one-way shipping cost when sending their items for repair.
The return shipping cost after the repair has been completed will be covered by us. Shipping fees may vary depending on your location, the size of your suitcase, and the courier you use. Please check with your courier for the exact cost.
If my suitcase is damaged while checked in at the airport, is it covered by insurance?
If your suitcase is damaged at the airport, first report it to the airline and obtain a Damage Report. Please be sure to check your luggage for any issues before leaving the airport.
After reporting, you can claim compensation through your travel insurance, credit card insurance, or the manufacturer’s warranty. Coverage and procedures vary by airline and insurance provider, so please contact them directly.
Can I get a certificate stating that the item cannot be repaired?

If it is confirmed that the item cannot be repaired, a certificate of irreparability can be issued. (Please note that a fee is required for issuing the certificate.)
Do you accept repairs for suitcases other than HIDEO WAKAMATSU?
We’re sorry, but we cannot repair suitcases from other brands. Each manufacturer uses different parts and materials, so we are only able to service HIDEO WAKAMATSU suitcases.
For repairs, please contact the store where you purchased your suitcase or the manufacturer of your suitcase brand.
Can HIDEO WAKAMATSU business bags or other products be repaired? Do they come with a warranty?
We do not provide a warranty for business bags or other non-suitcase products.
If repair parts are available, repairs may be possible for a fee. We do not sell parts separately.

Your bag will be received by our repair department, repaired by our staff, and then returned to you.
About suitcase keys
I lost the key to my suitcase. Can I purchase a replacement?
Yes, keys can be purchased separately. They are sold as a set of two for ¥2,200 (tax included), and payment is made via bank transfer.

How long will it take to receive the replacement keys?
Once your payment is confirmed, we will mail the keys. Delivery usually takes about 1 to 2 weeks.
Where can I find the key number?
The key number is a three-character alphanumeric code printed on the lock of your suitcase.
For example: "J19" or "901".
Please note: Codes like "TSA00○" are not key numbers.
When placing an order or making an inquiry, be sure to check the three-character number printed on the lock.
What is the keyhole on the dial lock for?
All HIDEO WAKAMATSU suitcases come equipped with a TSA-approved lock.
The keyhole next to the dial is for TSA inspection purposes only. Airport TSA officers can open it using a special master key if a security check is required. No key is provided for customer use.
You can use your suitcase normally by setting your own dial combination. There is no need to worry about losing a key.
I forgot the combination I set for my suitcase, and now I can’t open it. What should I do?
For security reasons, there is no way to unlock a dial lock other than aligning it to the set combination.
You will need to try each number from 000 to 999 sequentially. Normally, it takes about 15–20 minutes to unlock the suitcase even if all combinations are checked.
When resetting the combination, you must first identify the current code.

What is a TSA lock, and when is it needed?
A TSA lock is a security lock approved by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA). When checking luggage at airports in the United States (including Hawaii), TSA officers can open the lock using a master key for inspection, which helps prevent your suitcase from being damaged.
TSA locks are essential for travel to the U.S. and are also a convenient feature for other international trips. Most HIDEO WAKAMATSU suitcase models come with a TSA lock as standard, allowing you to travel internationally with confidence while keeping your belongings secure.
